American Spirit Overview

The modern American Spirit is for the traveller who pursues the exceptional. Uniquely designed to navigate the inland waters of Alaska, the American Spirit brings passengers to some of the most beautiful locations in America. In the intimate atmosphere onboard, guests will find that fellow travellers share their passion for these historic places, and often become fast friends. It’s easy to relax and feel comfortable in the spacious and relaxing rooms.

Accommodation.

Owner's Suite.

Enjoy a spacious stateroom to retire to with these 400 square foot Owner’s suite. Offering fine furnishings, a choice of two Twin or one King sized bed and intimate seating areas, these staterooms define modern luxury. Enjoy a sliding glass door that leads to your very own private balcony.

AAC (Private Balcony).

Enjoy the spacious accommodations of these AAC staterooms. Each room offers a choice between two Twin or one King sized bed and feature sliding glass doors that open up to your very own private balcony.

AAL (Private Balcony).

Located on the second deck, these AAL staterooms offer nearly 240 square feet of space to create a spacious environment. Suites are available with your choice of one King or two Twin sized beds and each stateroom features a private balcony.

AA.

AA staterooms are located on the second deck and offers expansive views out of large opening picture windows. These suites allow for easy access to the Midship and Chesapeake lounge rooms and the dining area.

A.

On the main deck are the A category staterooms. Featuring two Twin beds or one King sized bed, satellite TV, private bathrooms with full showers and large opening picture windows, these suites are comfortable getaways for discerning travellers.

Single (Private Balcony).

If you are taking a solo journey, our Single staterooms will offer you the quiet privacy you deserve. Single suites feature Twin sized beds, large private viewing window and spacious bathrooms. Single staterooms on the third deck also include private balconies.

Enrichment.

Onboard Experts. 

American Cruise Lines invites carefully selected experts to join us on each of our cruises. Their informal lectures, open discussions and activities bring local history, nature and culture to life through their knowledge and passion for American heritage. These enlighteners, naturalists and historians also lead shore excursions to give guests behind the scenes insight of some of America’s best-kept secrets and favourite treasures.

What is a Riverlorian? Created by combining the words river, lore and historian together, a Riverlorian is a knowledgeable person who shares the rich history and folklore of America's rivers with others.

Dining.

  • Cuisine on board is American themed and highlight the local dishes and ingredients.
  • All meals are served in the Dining Salon and can accommodate all guests in a single seating.
  • Breakfast and lunch both include a range of hot and cold meal option to choose from.
  • Dinner is a full menu and offers classic dishes such as Oysters Rockefeller.

Facilities.

Disabled Facilities.

American Cruise Lines, Inc.’s ships are equipped with handicap-accessible rooms. Most ships’ lounges, sun decks, and dining salons are accessible by wheelchairs or other walking aid devices. The ships are also equipped with an elevator for ease of movement between decks. 

Dietary Requirements.

American Cruise Lines will work to cater any dietary needs. Please tell your cruise specialist approximately two weeks prior to your cruise so that we may plan accordingly. Refrigeration is available to store insulin or other medications requiring protection.

Dress Code.

Casual resort attire is recommended both on the ship and ashore. For dinner, men’s clothing might include a sport shirt and slacks, with sport coat or sweater. Women might find a sweater and slacks, or dress appropriate. American Cruise Lines also recommends you bring comfortable walking shoes, a hat, light rain wear, and a jacket for cool evenings.

Smoking Policy.

Smoking is prohibited on the ship.
